Theory of Multidimensional Signals and Systems

Search

The theory of multidimensional signals and systems is the foundation for various aspects of multimedia communications. Still images, image sequences, and multiview videos are multidimensional signals with two, three, and more dimensions. The reproduction, propagation, and recording of speech and music is described by multidimensional systems. The digitization of images and the recording of sound events with microphone arrays follows the principals of spatial sampling. Apart from the theory of multidimensional signals and systems also sound synthesis and sound field rendering are research topics in this field of activity.
